We have created 4 councils/teams that represent our membership and their interests! We have an Equity Council for Race and Culture; an LGBTQ+ Council and a Political Action Team that all meet regularly and have exciting opportunities for members to connect, advocate and support one another. MEA also has a Bargaining Support Team that consists of members from membership, the MEA Executive Board and MEA Councils. This team helps coordinate with MEA in surveying members about critical issues needing to be addressed, observing the negotiation meetings and process in person, and sharing updated information back out to members about the status and outcomes of negotiations and bargaining sessions. We are about empowering our members to be leaders in our association and our profession.

MEA values each member. Exec Board members conduct regular monthly meetings with Building ARs, attends building listening tours with members, sponsors social events for members to connect with one another and enjoy food and drinks, and sends regular snap surveys to ensure that members’ voices are heard and tangible solutions are brought to Central Administration and building administration so that teachers can teach and students can learn! Ask a Skyview Campus member about HVAC! Ask a Special Services Provider about the SpEd task force! Ask a Council member about how their goals become plans of action! Ask a building AR about how they are supported!
